The song was released in February of 2000 and would top the Hot Latin, as well as the adult contemporary charts in the spring and summer. "You Sang To Me" was a Latin crossover hit for Marc Anthony. The song would spend 6 weeks at the beginning of 2000 on the Billboard country charts, and would reach as high as Number 2 on the adult contemporary charts in the spring of 2000.
